Here is some information regarding American Graffiti Hot August Nights, Reno, Nevada (Summer 2008)Clay Daily, the owner of the '56 T-bird, sent me these pictures from the Reno Summer 2008 show. Look at the number of stars who showed up, including Richard Dreyfuss, and the four cars that were shown! (The Pharoahs car is just peeking out in the back.)
Petaluma California's Salute to American Graffiti, May 15-17, 2008Petaluma celebrated the 35th anniversary of American Graffiti with their annual event in May. This year's event was dedicated to the late Manual Padilla, Jr. There was a Classic Car Extravaganza and an American Graffiti Downtown Cruise on the streets of Petaluma, where most of the scenes in the movie were filmed in the early summer of 1972. Thanks to May and Clay Daily for sending the photos below from the weekend of cruisin'!

One of American Graffiti's Biggest Fans!Dirk from Germany is a big fan of American Graffiti. He flew to the Stoneleigh Park show in England just for the day to see the cars and meet the stars! He is pictured below with Clay Daily, the owner of the T-bird, and with Paul Le Mat (John Milner) and Rick Figari, the owner of the '32 Ford. He sends his "virtual" regards to all of them and the promoter of the show, Peter Carrick. Music for Hot Rodders
I received Hot Rods and Custom Classics, a Rhino music set, for the holidays. Besides the totally cool fuzzy dice and stickers for your "rod", the music collection is absolutely awesome and lots of fun! Not your typical oldies compilation at all, these 118 songs will have you revving your car and tapping your feet!
Of course, you can still get the original American Graffiti soundtrack on CD, too!

On July 12, 1999, I received a note from Rick Figari, present owner of the 1932 Ford Coupe (seen in the picture to the right with Paul LeMat and Candy Clark at the 25th anniversary celebration).He states, " As for collectibles, the Franklin Mint photographers and engineers recently spent four days at my home photographing, measuring and drawing the coupe. They are due to release a limited edition, 1:24th scale model of the car which will come in a glass case with a copy of the video. Also Revell/Monogram is planing to release a model of the coupe in diecast in 1:25th scale." Thanks for sharing, Rick!

Hot Wheels Set The Hot Wheels set was available, in late 1998, through JCPenney and Sears.Nowadays, try visiting the eBay Auction Web.
Re-release The movie was re-released on September 15, 1999 on videotape, laserdisc, and DVD! This special edition of the movie includes short interviews with all the stars and the original movie trailer shown in theaters. The pan-and-scan (83616) video also contains the die-cut audio CD on the right which contains 4 songs from the soundtrack.The letterboxed (widescreen) version (83830) (or on DVD #20272) is the way to watch the movie! It is amazing to see everything we have been missing all these years on television and the original video (66010). The color has been enhanced in certain scenes, most noticeably in the clouds over Mel's Diner at the opening shot. Here is a review of the DVD version.
